PLAN AND CONSTRUCTION 1952*• Ignazio Gardella * The year may not be exact. |
The structure of this one-nave church is very simple. The blind brick external walls are strengthened by pilasters level with the trusses.
The reinforced concrete roof rests on a reinforced concrete curb and continues in the external ledges that support a greatly protruding gutter. The ceiling consists of a white plastered brick slab.
The light coming in from the ribbon windows just below the ceiling is reflected by the ceiling: this light strip gives the impression that the roof is suspended and detached from the walls, and makes it look light and airy.
Very thin cross-shaped cracks closed by clear glass are cut in the side walls, the apsidal wall and the façade.
The concrete sections, as well as internal and external bricks are open-face.
